The portrait begins with a client-artist consultation either in person, email or telephone. The possibilities such as size, medium, dress and background are discussed.

If local I may wish to take my own photographs to capture the mood, lighting and composition.

If sending photographs, it is a good idea to send several numbered photos, but if you have a favourite one you want reproduced that is fine. All photos need to be as clear as possible with good lighting. I may not paint all the features in the photograph (eg. background images) so as to obtain the best composition possible.

The time required for the process of a portrait painting varies, depending on the artist's schedule.

A deposit of 50% is required on commencement.

I sell my portraits but retain copyright of the image.

Sizes are approximations only.

• Framing is not included in these prices
• Additional charges include complicated backgrounds, animals, travel, shipping and freight, framing costs and sales tax (if applicable)
• If framing is not required, the canvas can be taken off the stretcher, rolled and sent by post.
• Other variations of sizes or number of people are to be quoted.
